Book of the Day: Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (2012)

Though Lewis Carroll’s own illustrations remain beloved, I must say I enjoy last year’s edition designed by Yayoi Kusama (published by Penguin) even more. Her trademark polka dot-based compositions lend the story a vibrant, hallucinogenic framework that coheres perfectly with Alice’s trip down the rabbit hole.

Do you prefer Carroll’s classic drawings or Kusama’s contemporary graphics? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Meanwhile, I’ll turn on some Jefferson Airplane and peruse Kusama’s edition for the thirty-fourth time.
